SESSION TWO KIT
Mary Bielski
How am I resisting the Light?
Speaking directly into today’s context, Mary will invite participants to consider how they are resisting God’s presence and action in their lives. Specifically, looking at how we can often “put things on” that are not of the Lord and how those things often need to be taken off before we can be clothed in the armour of Light. This session is a call to personal examination to remove barriers between ourselves and the Lord, to be unveiled before Him.
Journal/Small Group Questions
Question 1: How has the shaking of this season affected you? What has "washed up on the shore" of your heart ( i.e. unbelief, fear, resentment, judgments?)
Question 2: Mary shared the power of story. What stories (beliefs) do you have about yourself, your situation, or others that God might want to explore with you? Share those stories with your group.
Question 3: How do we as women, (moms, wives, employees, or students) put up walls to protect ourselves? What are the lies that keep from receiving love for yourself or others?
Question 4: In Ephesians, Paul prays that they would have a spirit of “wisdom” and “revelation” in knowing the person of Jesus. Read Eph 1:17-19 and reflect (or discuss) what that means for you in the season. How has God's love been revealed to you in the past? What love or truth does the Lord want to reveal and restore to you now?
Question 5: Returning Home: Mary shared that it is God’s love/mercy which leads us to repentance, (cf. Rom 3:4). What compassion do you need to give to yourself or others? How might God see the brokenness of your past or issues?
Question 6: Finally journal with the Lord asking Him for His wisdom. What might God be asking you to do or surrender to Him? What does returning look like in a practical way today?
